WHAT'S ON TAP
A proper German weekend, Montana style.
- Bier Garten — Ayinger and Paulaner on tap, plus non-alcoholic beverages. Drinks by token, cash, or card.
- German Eats — bratwurst, currywurst, giant Bavarian pretzels & more at the food tent.
- Games All Weekend — Hammerschlagen, cornhole, and the Stein Holding competition (prizes!).
- Live Music — traditional Oktoberfest favorites and dance sets from DJ Swamp Moose.
- Football on the Big Screens — college Saturday, NFL Sunday, all day.
- Family & Dog Friendly — all ages welcome, kids under 16 free, leashed pups encouraged.

Where in Big Sky is the event?
Town Center Plaza, in front of the Wilson Hotel. The entrance is by Blue Buddha restaurant.
How much does admission cost?
$10 per person per day for ages 16 and up. Kids under 16 are free. Want all three days? The 3-day pass is discounted to $25.
Where can I stay overnight?
The Wilson Hotel — right on the plaza — offers discounted rooms for fest-goers. Book the neighbors rate here.
How do I buy drinks?
Ayinger and Paulaner are on tap in the bier garten, along with non-alcoholic beverages — drinks are by token, cash, or card, and one token equals one drink. Additional non-alcoholic drinks are available at the food tent.
What food will be available?
The food tent serves bratwurst, currywurst, Bavarian pretzels, and more, all weekend.
Is the event family friendly?
Absolutely — all ages are welcome, kids under 16 get in free, and there are games throughout the event.
Is it dog friendly?
Yes! Dogs are welcome as long as they're leashed and well behaved.
What kind of music will there be?
Traditional German Oktoberfest favorites and dance sets spun by DJ Swamp Moose.
Who does the event benefit?
Big Sky Oktoberfest is a fundraiser for youth sports in Big Sky — proceeds go straight to local youth programs.
What games and activities are there?
A game area runs throughout the event with cornhole, Hammerschlagen, and the Stein Holding competition.
When is the Stein Holding competition?
Four rounds: Friday and Saturday at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Register in person at the Stein Holding table in the big tent — bring your own stein or use one of ours (filled with water). Prizes for winners. Official rules here.
